Slow Down • Breathe Deep
Last year was a lot. My family put our house on the market and moved during the growing season. Many plants didn’t get started, which means they didn’t get planted, which means we didn’t have them to sell. And yet, all subscriptions were fulfilled and while we had to turn away some orders due to supply issues, we still managed to grow significantly from our first year. By the end of the year we were exhausted.
In the fall of 2022, Amy and I attended a Women’s Conference through our church. The speaker shared Ecclesiastes 4:6, “better one handful with tranquillity than two handfuls with toil and chasing after the wind.” It really spoke to me. We want to grow and expand but we want to be cautious not to bite off more than we can chew. This means our growth needs to be well thought out and we may have to turn away business that doesn’t align with our goals. Saying no is not my forte! I’ve heard it said, the best way to ruin something you love is to turn it into a business. We LOVE flowers and don’t want that to change so we will focus in on our goals. We need to remember to slow down and breathe deep and enjoy what we do! That’s why this season’s shirts share this idea to slow down and breathe deep. Maybe you too find yourself being overwhelmed or feeling anxious and can use this pretty reminder to stop and smell the flowers. :)
The off-season was a wonderful time of rest and learning and also cultivating the new space. We have many new flowers added to our lineup this year! Subscriptions and flower deliveries remain our primary focus. We want the flowers to change with the seasons; in variety and colors! There is nothing more renewing than the changing of a season and we want you to feel that and enjoy it as well. We still have a few slots left in our spring subscription and many available slots for summer and fall.
